Leaders Gathered from all over...

... right here in San Diego, our hometown!

Note: Although our Leadership Convention coincided with the birth of our granddaughter and six months have already passed, I'd be remiss if I didn't share this blog I began in March. This week, now September, I am preparing to head to Covention!

We started with a classic beach cruise with Russell Buttars and Andrew Barrus from the Corporate office on Sunday afternoon.

I picked them up from their downtown hotel in my everyday car for convenience and comfort. Then, we hopped into our 1965, 21-window VW bus for a retro beach cruise, minus the keg and passing doobies.

My childhood friend Danny made us a custom CD filled with old surf tunes from the past. It perfectly set the mood for a cruise from the caves in La Jolla, past WindanSea (my childhood beach) to Law Street beach in Pacific Beach (our future home beach).

I could write an entire blog about the gratitude I felt sharing some of my most cherished beaches with Russell and Andrew. It’s rewarding to see our hometown through others' eyes. Plus, I really needed to get back te the water; this mermaid had been landlocked for too long.

The next day, I arrived at the San Diego Convention Center and the first people I saw were Russell and Andrew! It was fun to have the previous night's sunset etched in our memories.

Over the next three days, I reconnected with friends from previous conventions, including Linda, who reminds me of a dear aunt. We only meet at conventions, and I always gain ideas from her as she is an unassuming leader for doTERRA.

I also enjoyed meeting friends we made last summer in Bulgaria. These past eight years have been a blessing as I journey with doTERRA on many levels.

Primarily, for my own health and my family's. I also help my friends optimize their health, which brings me great joy.

We usually don't discuss new products as those are saved for the fall convention for everyone, leaders and consumers alike.

They did show us products that will be available for a limited time or ideas of what's to come. I'll wait to reveal those as they roll out. Do you feel the suspense?!

Secondly, visiting Bulgaria was an unexpected delight. Honestly, it seemed like a fun opportunity at the time, and my doTERRA business had slowed. I was right; it was a memorable trip, and although we shared our passion for natural solutions, it didn't feel like work at all. Instead, it was like-minded people exploring our beautiful planet together.

Little did I know I would run into many of them at our annual customer convention in September. In fact, I stayed with Karla Steadman, and we enjoyed discovering all the new products and the highlight of hearing from Mel Robbins.

The same was true for Leadership in March, except I didn't have someone stay with me since both our homes are rented out, and we are staying with our daughter and her family.

I encountered more people I traveled with to Bulgaria, both from the States and Singapore, then I did my in seeing my upline. That trip was valuable on its own and reignited my passion for living well naturally, especially with doTERRA.

However, my up-line coach Andy Garcia had put together a weekly zoom meeting with Carly Bautista from his team. Carly organized a taco night in the Gaslamp, a part of downtown San Diego that is close to the convention center. It was fun to meet some of the other people from our zoom meeting. It felt like we were returning to the root of this business, our team.
