Welcome to our first ever travel blog! We will be heading out for Portland, Maine this month then meandering south to Florida and then heading home to California on the southern route. Not sure exactly how many miles we will roam but we plan to be home in March of '24. We appreciate you joining us on our adventure.
This journey began in fall of 2019 when we sold our beloved V-dub camper in hopes of having an RV someday, that would have a full size galley and proper head. After all, Shari camped in V-dubs for 30 years and was very excited to level up. Luck would have it that one week before covid, we found our dream home on wheels.
After living in it during the summers of '21 and '22, we took the jump this year and rented our home for long term, so that we could roam. Our journey began in June at local campgrounds at Mission Bay, so that we can hone our craft before departing.
This summer, we've made some improvements, such as upgrading our horn from a roadrunner beep beep, to a big horn that matches our 50' rig. We also added some things we needed, my favorite being a small table to hold our Brita water filter. Mother Earth thanks us for reducing plastic use! Lastly we stored a lot of things that we found we really don't need, 50% of what we thought we'd bring. Even still, I'm sure we are far from living a minimalist lifestyle, but we are down to 4 beach towels!
